This brand new 2025 Ford Expedition rolled into the bay to fix a common issue with modern SUVs: dark factory privacy glass on the rear windows, but completely clear, unprotected glass up front. The goal was to seamlessly match the factory rear windows while adding serious heat rejection to the cabin.
Here is a quick breakdown of the materials used and the installation process.
The Build
- Vehicle: 2025 Ford Expedition
- Service: Front Two Windows & Windshield Strip
- Film: LuxeGuard Pro HD Ceramic (15%)

The Prep & Installation
Working on a brand new 2025 interior means taking extra precautions to protect the door panels and internal electronics from moisture during the install.
- Glass Prep: Even on a brand new truck, the glass has to be thoroughly scrubbed and razor-bladed to remove any manufacturing off-gassing or adhesive residue.
- The Install: We shrink the film to match the exact curvature of the Expedition's glass. For the front roll-down windows, we micro-edge the film tight to the top of the glass so there are no visible gaps when you roll the window down—giving it a true factory look.
- Windshield Strip: We custom-cut and contoured a sun strip across the top of the windshield to drop the glare line and protect the driver's eyes during morning and evening commutes.

The Payoff
Aesthetically, the 15% film perfectly matches the rear dyed glass thanks to the 5th Generation Black Technology in the film, giving the truck a unified, natural look from front to back.
But the real upgrade is the performance. Factory rear privacy glass only provides shade; it doesn't actually block infrared heat.
By installing the LuxeGuard Pro HD Ceramic film, these front windows are now actively blocking 97-99% of infrared heat. The cabin stays dramatically cooler, the AC doesn't have to work nearly as hard, and the driver gets crystal clear optical clarity without the heavy glare.
