Stealth Satin PPF Transformation: Cadillac CTS

We just wrapped up this Cadillac with a complete Satin Paint Protection Film (PPF) conversion. The goal was to ditch the factory gloss for a custom, stealthy look while locking in heavy-duty protection for the paint.

Here is a quick look at the build and what goes into a full satin transformation in our bay.

The Build

  • Vehicle: Cadillac CTS
  • Service: Full Vehicle PPF (All painted surfaces)
  • Film: Satin / Matte Finish

Before & After

The Prep & Installation

A flawless satin finish requires perfect paint underneath. If you leave any factory gloss exposed on the edges or wrap over contamination, it completely ruins the illusion.

  • Decontamination & Polish: We started with a heavy foam wash, chemical iron removal, and a clay bar treatment to pull every microscopic embedded contaminant out of the clear coat. Even though we’re applying a matte film, the surface has to be perfectly smooth, so we followed up with a light machine polish.
  • The Wrap: To ensure zero exposed gloss, we used a hybrid installation method. We used computer-cut patterns for exact panel fitment, combined with custom bulk-wrapping techniques to seamlessly tuck the film around the complex curves of the bumpers and tuck every single edge.

The Payoff

The result is a stunning, frosted aesthetic that diffuses light beautifully over the Cadillac’s body lines. But beyond the new look, this car is now wrapped in a thick, thermoplastic urethane shield.

This film acts as a physical barrier against rock chips, bug splatter, and UV fading. It features heat-activated self-healing technology—meaning minor swirl marks will literally vanish in the sun—and a built-in nano-ceramic topcoat that makes washing the car incredibly easy. Best of all, the original factory paint is perfectly preserved underneath.
