Ceramic Window Tint for Daniel Island, SC Drivers
Daniel Island garages are full of cars that deserve a top-tier film. Tesla, Porsche, AMG, RS, M, exotic, plus the high-end SUVs that haul kids to the Daniel Island School and back. The Pro HD spec is the only reason to drive here for tint — anything less is on the menu at the dealer.
What we see specifically on Daniel Island vehicles.
Daniel Island sits on the Wando River with marsh humidity year-round and full island UV every clear day. The vehicles parked at Codner's Ferry, Smythe Park, and Daniel Island Park are the kind that come from the factory with everything optioned and deserve film that matches. Most Daniel Island drivers also run electronics-heavy vehicles — radar cruise, lane-keep cameras, OTA-capable Teslas, and high-end dash cams — which makes metal-free ceramic non-negotiable. The dealer-installed dye job that comes free with the trade-in is not the answer here.
The right tier for the way Daniel Island drivers actually drive.
LuxeGuard Pro HD is the standard for Daniel Island — 97–99% IR rejection, glass-clear optical clarity, metal-free, lifetime warranty filed at install. The spec wins against XPEL XR Plus and 3M Crystalline on IR for materially less money. For owners with a track-driven secondary car, we'll do the daily-driver in Pro HD and the weekend car in something flashier on request.

What Daniel Island drivers ask before they book.
- Can you tint a Tesla Model S, Y, X, or 3 without affecting the front windshield's heads-up display or autopilot cameras?
- Yes. We tint Tesla front windshields at the customer's request with non-reflective ceramic above the AS-1 line — autopilot cameras (which sit in the windshield), HUD projection, and rain sensors all continue to work normally because the film is metal-free. Most Daniel Island Tesla owners run a windshield strip plus a full ceramic tint cabin in Pro HD.
- I'm taking delivery of a new car. Should I tint before or after I drive it?
- Tint as soon as possible — every day in full Daniel Island sun is a day of UV exposure on the unprotected interior. We tint a lot of new-delivery vehicles direct from Charleston-area dealers; ideally we get the car before you take it to the beach for the first time. We also offer concierge pickup from Daniel Island for new-car installs.
- Which tier should I pick?
- Honest answer: if the budget works, go Pro HD. It's only $50 more than our mid-tier Nano Ceramic but jumps you from 90–92% to 97–99% IR rejection with noticeably higher optical clarity — you'll feel the difference the first time you drive home in the Charleston sun. Nano is our sweet spot if budget matters and you still want serious heat rejection. 3M Ceramic IR is a solid entry if you just need a good ceramic tint from a trusted name at a lower price.
- What tint is legal in South Carolina?
- SC tint law depends on your vehicle. If your car is a sedan or coupe that came with clear factory glass on every window, you're limited to 27% VLT or lighter on all side windows AND the back glass (so 27%, 35%, 50%, and 70% are the legal options). If your vehicle came with factory-tinted rear glass from the manufacturer — most SUVs and trucks — the rear windows can be any shade you want, and only the front two side windows are capped at 27% VLT. Windshield tint is restricted to above the AS-1 line on every vehicle. We'll install any shade you choose — but we'll also walk you through what's legal on your specific vehicle before you commit.
- Is there a medical exemption for darker tint in South Carolina?
- Yes. South Carolina allows a medical exemption for documented conditions — lupus, severe photosensitivity, skin cancer history, melanoma, and other physician-verified diagnoses. Your doctor completes the exemption form, you carry a signed exemption card with the vehicle, and you can legally run any shade on the side and rear glass. We've installed plenty of exemption-level tint for local customers and can walk you through the paperwork.
