Ceramic Window Tint for Mount Pleasant, SC Drivers
Mount Pleasant cars don't get a break — Ravenel Bridge sun on the way to Charleston, IOP Connector glare on the way to the beach, and oceanfront UV the rest of the time. Premium ceramic tint is the standard around here, not an upgrade.
What we see specifically on Mount Pleasant vehicles.
Old Village, I'On, and Carolina Park drivers are buying long-term protection — not a Friday-afternoon "make it darker" job. Salt air and oceanfront UV bake interiors fast on Sullivan's, IOP, and the eastern Mount Pleasant stretch. Our install bay is climate-controlled with regulated humidity, which matters more for ceramic tint cure than most customers realize: a film installed in a 90°F humid driveway looks identical on day one and shows microbubbles by month two. We don't install in the driveway.
The right tier for the way Mount Pleasant drivers actually drive.
LuxeGuard Pro HD is the right answer for the vast majority of Mount Pleasant vehicles — 97–99% IR rejection, glass-clear optical clarity (no purple tint or carbon haze), and a lifetime warranty that's filed against your VIN, not your shop receipt. Anything less, on a Porsche, AMG, RS, M, or Tesla, is leaving spec on the table.

What Mount Pleasant drivers ask before they book.
- How long is the drive from Mount Pleasant for a tint install?
- About 35 minutes from Old Village or I'On via I-526. Most Mount Pleasant tint installs are same-day — drop off morning, pick up afternoon. Customers from IOP and Sullivan's regularly schedule a downtown lunch or shopping at Mount Pleasant Towne Center while the install runs.
- We park at the beach a lot — does ceramic tint help with sand and salt on the windows?
- Yes. Every film we install carries a hydrophobic topcoat — water sheets off, salt rinses off, and sand doesn't grind into the film the way it does into older dyed films. We see fewer wiper-induced scratches on rear glass on coated vs. uncoated tint by a wide margin.
- Which tier should I pick?
- Honest answer: if the budget works, go Pro HD. It's only $50 more than our mid-tier Nano Ceramic but jumps you from 90–92% to 97–99% IR rejection with noticeably higher optical clarity — you'll feel the difference the first time you drive home in the Charleston sun. Nano is our sweet spot if budget matters and you still want serious heat rejection. 3M Ceramic IR is a solid entry if you just need a good ceramic tint from a trusted name at a lower price.
- What tint is legal in South Carolina?
- SC tint law depends on your vehicle. If your car is a sedan or coupe that came with clear factory glass on every window, you're limited to 27% VLT or lighter on all side windows AND the back glass (so 27%, 35%, 50%, and 70% are the legal options). If your vehicle came with factory-tinted rear glass from the manufacturer — most SUVs and trucks — the rear windows can be any shade you want, and only the front two side windows are capped at 27% VLT. Windshield tint is restricted to above the AS-1 line on every vehicle. We'll install any shade you choose — but we'll also walk you through what's legal on your specific vehicle before you commit.
- Is there a medical exemption for darker tint in South Carolina?
- Yes. South Carolina allows a medical exemption for documented conditions — lupus, severe photosensitivity, skin cancer history, melanoma, and other physician-verified diagnoses. Your doctor completes the exemption form, you carry a signed exemption card with the vehicle, and you can legally run any shade on the side and rear glass. We've installed plenty of exemption-level tint for local customers and can walk you through the paperwork.
