Ceramic Window Tint for Moncks Corner, SC Drivers
Moncks Corner drivers spend real time in the sun — Highway 52 and I-26 commutes, full-sun driveways, and Berkeley County heat that turns a parked cabin into an oven by mid-morning. Ceramic window tint rejects up to 99% of the infrared heat at the glass, so the AC isn't starting from a 130° dashboard every time.
What we see specifically on Moncks Corner vehicles.
Foxbank Plantation, Berkeley Country Club, and the newer 52-corridor neighborhoods are full of daily drivers and family SUVs that park outside and commute long, sun-baked stretches of Highway 52 and I-26. Heat builds fastest through the windshield and front side glass, and unprotected dashboards crack and fade by year four in this kind of duty cycle. The issue is rarely darkness — it's infrared rejection. The right ceramic film cuts interior heat enough to keep the AC ahead of it, keeps the cabin comfortable on the afternoon commute, and protects the interior from the UV that ages it prematurely.
The right tier for the way Moncks Corner drivers actually drive.
LuxeGuard Nano is the Moncks Corner value sweet spot — 90–92% IR rejection, lifetime warranty, priced to tint every window on a daily driver or family SUV. For premium and EV vehicles, or noticeably cooler back seats, LuxeGuard Pro HD jumps to 97–99% IR. A full-windshield ceramic sheet or strip is the highest-impact single add for the long Highway 52 commute.

“Awesome place, very professional crew.”
“Hands down the best detailer and tint shop in Charleston. The work is surgical and they make you feel at home. Nobody else touches my vehicles except for them.”
“Took my car to have unknown substance removed from right side front of car. SLD was able to promptly remove the substance with no damage to my car, headlight and paint job at minimal charge! Thank you! So impressed that I have scheduled for ceramic coating for my car.”
What Moncks Corner drivers ask before they book.
- How much cooler will ceramic tint make my cabin?
- On a 95° Berkeley County afternoon, IR-rejecting ceramic tint can drop cabin temperature 15–25°F compared to untinted glass or cheap dyed film — most of that from the windshield and front side glass. The AC reaches a comfortable temperature far faster, the dashboard stops baking, and because every film blocks 99% of UV, the interior fades and cracks much slower too.
- Is the drive from Moncks Corner worth it for ceramic tint?
- About 25 minutes via Highway 52. The reason customers make the drive is the install quality — climate-controlled bay, plotter-cut patterns instead of hand-cut, lifetime-warrantied films from manufacturers that warranty the install too. The tint costs the same; the difference is what it looks like at year five.
- Which tier should I pick?
- Honest answer: if the budget works, go Pro HD. It's only $50 more than our mid-tier Nano Ceramic but jumps you from 90–92% to 97–99% IR rejection with noticeably higher optical clarity — you'll feel the difference the first time you drive home in the Charleston sun. Nano is our sweet spot if budget matters and you still want serious heat rejection. 3M Ceramic IR is a solid entry if you just need a good ceramic tint from a trusted name at a lower price.
- What tint is legal in South Carolina?
- SC tint law depends on your vehicle. If your car is a sedan or coupe that came with clear factory glass on every window, you're limited to 27% VLT or lighter on all side windows AND the back glass (so 27%, 35%, 50%, and 70% are the legal options). If your vehicle came with factory-tinted rear glass from the manufacturer — most SUVs and trucks — the rear windows can be any shade you want, and only the front two side windows are capped at 27% VLT. Windshield tint is restricted to above the AS-1 line on every vehicle. We'll install any shade you choose — but we'll also walk you through what's legal on your specific vehicle before you commit.
- Is there a medical exemption for darker tint in South Carolina?
- Yes. South Carolina allows a medical exemption for documented conditions — lupus, severe photosensitivity, skin cancer history, melanoma, and other physician-verified diagnoses. Your doctor completes the exemption form, you carry a signed exemption card with the vehicle, and you can legally run any shade on the side and rear glass. We've installed plenty of exemption-level tint for local customers and can walk you through the paperwork.
